Palm scanner resellers

Biometric palm scanners are sold by authorized resellers as part of an equipment kit (part number BAR BAK). The kit includes a Fujitsu palm vein scanner sensor (model number FAT13FPS01), hand cradle, and USB cable. Contact a reseller for pricing information.

Biometric enrollment

Before a licensee can perform inspections using the BAR-OIS and BAR-SIS, they must complete biometric enrollment to establish a palm data profile. Biometric enrollment is completed at BAR field offices and takes about 15 minutes to complete. Contact BAR Field Office Support for enrollment dates and times.

What to expect

During enrollment, BAR will:

• Take your photo

• Scan your palms to establish your biometric palm data profile

  Note, in rare situations where one or both palms cannot be scanned at the time of enrollment, BAR field staff will make reasonable accommodations based upon specific circumstances.

Enrollment checklist

Be sure to bring the following items with you to the field office:

• Your BAR-issued inspector or technician badge (if received prior to enrollment) and license number Print my badge and license

• A proof of identification document showing your legal name and signature such as a social security card or credit card

• A valid, government-issued photo identification document (other than an inspector badge), such as a driver license, passport, or military identification

  The name on your identification must match your legal name. To request a name correction on your license, submit a completed Change of Address and/or Name form to BARLicensingApplications@dca.ca.gov.
