OEM service information resources for independent repair shops

Independent repair shops rely on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) service information to diagnose, repair, and calibrate vehicles. The National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) provides resources for locating OEM service information, accessing training materials, and credentialing for certain vehicle security services.

NASTF member resources

A no-cost NASTF membership account provides access to resources including:

  • Links to OEM service information and diagnostic websites

  • OEM training information

  • Technical documents, recorded presentations, and the NASTF Learning Center

  • Module reprogramming information and other technical references

  • Service Information Requests, which allow repair shops to report missing or difficult-to-access OEM service information for review with vehicle manufacturers

  • Industry news and manufacturer updates

OEM service information subscriptions

NASTF also provides a central directory of OEM service information websites. Individual manufacturers offer subscription access to resources such as repair manuals, wiring diagrams, software, calibration files, and diagnostic applications. Subscription options vary by manufacturer and may include daily, monthly, or annual access.

Vehicle security resources

NASTF also offers separate vehicle security programs that require additional registration and fees. Repair shops and locksmiths that regularly perform vehicle security services may apply for credentialing through NASTF's Vehicle Security Professional (VSP) registry. Credentialed participants can access OEM security information and systems required for authorized security-related repairs.

For shops that need occasional assistance with immobilizer or key programming, NASTF's Assisted Immobilizer Reprogramming program provides remote access to credentialed VSPs on a per-transaction basis following registration and identity verification.

Additional information about these programs and resources is available on the NASTF website.
