Opportunities for Public Participation

BAR Advisory Group (BAG) Meetings: The advisory group meets regularly to provide input to the Chief on BAR program issues. The meetings are open to the public. Locations are specified in each agenda and can be accessed at the BAR Advisory Group webpage.

Submit Your Comments on Draft Regulations:
The "Notice of Proposed Action" for each regulatory action explains how the public can comment on draft regulations through electronic mail, by fax, or in person. Notices can be accessed at the Regulatory Actions webpage.

Inspection and Review Committee (IMRC): The California Inspection and Maintenance Review Committee was created by the Legislature and Governor to evaluate the effectiveness of California's Smog Check program, and recommend program improvements. The IMRC holds periodic public meetings to evaluate information, receive public input, and adopt policies and recommendations. The IMRC's information can be accessed at IMRC Website.
