The " Station Locator" menu selection provides for listing stations based on various selection options.

SEARCH INSTRUCTIONS FOR LICENSE LOOKUP

You can look up the current status of California-licensed Automotive Dealers, Stations, and Technicians.  When you locate the name you are searching for, double-click on the name for more complete information. If there have been any final disciplinary actions against a licensee, that will be noted, and you will find a link to additional information about the enforcement action(s).

How to search for a licensee:

To look up a license please enter either the person, business name, license number, city or county.

Person Name: To ensure you get correct data please include either the first or last name. DO NOT enter the first and last names or combination thereof. i.e., John Doe or Doe, John

However, if you're not sure of a person's,  partial names can be used to locate licensees. For example, if you think the last name of a person is Smith, enter Smith in the name box and then click on find. All the Smiths will be displayed. You can also enter other criteria to help narrow down a search for a person or business. For example, if you want all the Smiths in Los Angeles, enter Smith in the Name box and Los Angeles in the City box. Then, click on Find. All the Smiths located in Los Angeles will be displayed.

Business Name: . Partial names may be used for a search.   If you know the city or county, adding that information will narrow the search.

City: You may search for all licenses in a city, OR you may narrow your search by entering a name or license number AND a city.

County: You may search for all licenses in a county, OR you may narrow your search by entering a name or license number AND a county.

New Search:  Before starting a new search, use the CLEAR button before entering new information.

When You Find the Name You Want: Be sure to double-click on the name of the person you're searching for to see all the information available.

Definitions of License Status are given below.


License Status Definitions  

Clear: License is current and valid.

Cancelled: License has been delinquent for more than five years. The right to practice has expired.  Please Note:  There is currently no retired or inactive status for engineering or land surveying licenses, therefore some licensees choose to allow their licenses to expire.

Delinquent: Expiration date has passed and the license has not been renewed. Delinquencies may be reinstated within three years. Delinquent licensees do not have the right to practice.

Denied:License denied pursuant to Section 11350.6 of the Welfare and Institutions Code. Any questions should be directed to the Department of Consumer Affairs, Family Support Unit, (916) 323-0884.

Suspended: The licensee is prohibited from practicing for a specific period of time. Suspension is the result of a disciplinary action.

Revoked: The license is cancelled and the right to practice is ended. Revocation is the result of a disciplinary action.

Voluntary Surrender/Surrender of License:   License has been voluntarily turned in to the Board. The right to practice is ended.
