Smog Check Station License Renewal

Step 1: When do I have to renew my Smog Check Station License?

All Smog Check Station Licenses must be renewed each year. Your license expiration date will correspond with your ARD registration expiration date.

You may receive a Courtesy Notice from BAR to remind you that your license is about to expire.

Warning: It is your responsibility to renew your Smog Check Station License regardless of whether you receive a Courtesy Notice from BAR or not.

What if I am Late?

If you are late renewing your Smog Station license:

  • If your current license is delinquent, you will have to pay a $50 delinquent fee as well as any past due renewal fees. You will exerience a lapse in your license period.
  • If you Smog Check station license is not renewed within 3 years, you will be unable to renew your station license, and will be required to re-apply for an initial Smog Check station license.

Warning:You will be locked out of the Electronic Transmission System and will be unable to engage in performing typical Smog station duties.
