When Do I Renew?

Smog Check Station License Renewal

All Smog Check Station Licenses must be renewed each year. Your license expiration date will correspond with your ARD registration expiration date.

You may receive a Courtesy Notice from BAR to remind you that your license is about to expire.

Warning: It is your responsibility to renew your Smog Check Station License regardless of whether you receive a Courtesy Notice from BAR or not.

If you are late renewing your Smog Station license:

If your current license is delinquent, you will have to pay a $50 delinquent fee as well as any past due renewal fees. You will exerience a lapse in your license period.
If you Smog Check station license is not renewed within 3 years, you will be unable to renew your station license, and will be required to re-apply for an initial Smog Check station license.
