Step 4: Do I need to take an examination?
Yes.
You will receive a notification that you are eligible to take an examination when your application passes the review process. You will be given instructions for scheduling an examination. Most exams are scheduled within 10 days of your request for an appointment.

Warning: All applicants must have required experience, education, and certifications before they will be eligible to take the required examination.
What happens if I fail the examination?
Applicants are given two chances to pass the examination, but both attempts must be taken within 90 days of notification. You must pay an exam fee to retake the exam.
